Won Considerable success with his exceptional gifts of neat workmanship of violins, violas and cellos, imitative of his fathers style but at a more moderate price. Varnish of a thick texture, somewhat Italian in appearance. Worked in Mirecourt in 1925 but continued the use of Parisian labels.

A fine quality violin by Collin-Mezin, Charles (junior). A Guarnerius model, the instrument is supplied with the original certificate of guarantee signed, dated and numbered by Charles Collin-Mezin himself. The back length is:14.1/8 inches (35.8 cm.) Condition is excellent, there are no repairs or damage other than small varnish imperfections however there is some work carried out to reinforce a grain imperfection on the left hand side, it is almost invisible and you would not be aware of it had I not mentioned it. Set up with Harlequin strings and supplied in a new lightweight case. The violin has a warm sonorous bass and good treble, is well balanced and with plenty of volume. I would describe it as having a golden tone. An excellent instrument for player and collector!
