A fine French bow by Louis Thomassin, stamped P.Blanchard A Lyon for who the bow was made. Bows by this maker are extremely rare and very collectable. This example has a silver mounted pernambuco stick, it is lovely quality and in excellent condition apart from wear to the stick at the position of the little finger. His bows are of consistent and beautiful quality. Born in 1856, cousin to Claude Thomassin this is a truly great maker of the period. This example was made around 1890. Just re-haired.
