| A beautiful fine quality instrument made by Adolphe Dupary who was working in Paris from 1906, before that time he studied under Auguste Darte and worked for some time as an assistant of Paul Bailly another fine maker of the period. His violins have very fine workmanship and are quite rare nowadays, this example is a Guarnerius model finished in a red/brown oil varnish over a golden ground coat. Note the judicious use of "pegging" to the corners, upper and lower blocks both on the front and the back, a distinguishing feature of this luthier. The condition of this violin is excellent, just some natural varnish wear. The back length is: 14.1/8 inches, (35.8 cm). The fittings are in ebony and a new set of Obligato strings have been fitted. Supplied in a new lightweight case. A A lovely instrument to play with a rich classy tone with balance, clarity and plenty of volume. Highly recommended for collector and player! |
