William Henley's Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers
states the following about the maker.
Amédée Dieudonne. Born 1890.
Pupil of Gustave Bazin. Worked for Darche at Brussels. Established at Mirecourt 1924. Splendid hand-made replicas of ancient violins, faithfully depicting all familiar elements; rich and sheeny reddish/yellow or bright red varnish.

Dvorak's Humouresqe.

A good Amati copy made around 1925. The back length is: 14.3/16 inches long (36cm.) set up with ebony pegs, tailpiece and chinrest. Condition is good, there is no damage or repairs just varnish wear and marks and a small amount of varnish repair to the lower back. Fitted with Pro-Arte strings and supplied in a new lightweight case. A violin with a smooth clean tone, good balance and ample volume, easy to play. A decent instrument at an affordable price!
