William Henley's Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers
states the following about the maker.
JACQUOT, FERNAND. Born 1884.
Son and successor of Charles Albert Ettienne Jacquot. Born at Nancy in 1884. Studied in Mirecourt in the workshops of Mougenot Gauche. He established his own workshops in Nancy in 1925. He won numerous medals and diplomas at many of the exhibitions. Produced instruments which for elegance and grace of form and loveliness of varnish rank among the best of the modern school. He adds that the tonal quality is beautiful.

A nice Bergonzi copy, and labelled as such. The back length is 14.1/8 inches (35.8 cm.) The condition is excellent, there is no damage or repairs, just minor varnish imperfections.Set up with quality rosewood fittings and a new set of Pro-Arte strings, the violin is supplied in a new light weight case. This instrument has a warm and mellow tone with a nice clear treble and good volume, also good in the higher positions. A nice violin to play!
