William Henley's Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers
states the following about the maker.
Joseph Aubry. Born 1873.
Joseph Aubry was the son of a guitar maker. He served an aprentiship in violin making, established his own premises in Mirecourt and in 1921 gained the first class diploma at Paris for the perfect tonal sonority of his instruments. He was also recipient of the 'highest honours' at the Metz Exposition in 1922. Moved to Le Harvre 1927. Henley devotes another five paragraphs expounding the quality and tone of Aubry's violins.

A Vuillaume copy, circa 1900. £895.00 stock no. WP23
Sarabande in G minor by C.Bohm.
The label is inscribed:
Copie
de J. B. Vuillaume
rue Croix des Petits-Champs, PARIS

A good quality Vuillaume copy. Although the wood is quite plain it is a decent well made instrument finished in an orange/red varnish. The two piece back is 14.1/16 inches, (35.7 cm.), the fittings are in ebony, recently set up with new bridge, pro-Arte strings and supplied in a new case. The violin has a nice clean balanced tone, a good bass and plenty of volume. Vuillaume copies are unusual, this one is good value!
