William Henley's Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers
states the following about the maker.
Amédée Dieudonne. Born 1890.
Pupil of Gustave Bazin. Worked for Darche at Brussels. Established at Mirecourt 1924. Splendid hand-made replicas of ancient violins, faithfully depicting all familiar elements; rich and sheeny reddish/yellow or bright red varnish.

The label is inscribed:

The Dugarde workshops made a number of commercial instruments, always of good quality and with a tone to match. This example is in excellent condition and without damage or repairs, just very minor varnish marks. The back length is: 14.1/8 inches, (35.8cm). The fittings are ebony and the violin is set up with Resonance strings and supplied in a new lightweight case. A violin with a vibrant clear tone with good resonance and balance. Well made, and at an affordable price!
