Darche violin, dated 1900. £2,450.00 stock no. WP02
Handel F maj. Sonata.
The label is inscribed:
HILAIRE DARCHE, luthier du
Conservatoire Royal, Bruxelles 1900
The violin is also branded inside on the back H.DARCHE

An unusual and rare violin of character by Hilaire Darche or one of his assistants, the same label was used both for violins made entirely by himself but also made in part by his assistants. The back length is 14.3/16 inches (36 cm.) The condition is very good, there is no damage, just small ancient repairs and patchiness to the varnish. Set up with Dominant strings, fine quality ebony fittings and supplied in a new lightweight case. A violin with a vibrant open tone, capable of much expression, a good instrument that is a pleasure to play. Recommended!
