Product Code WP59

Signature inside:

Supplied with a West Country Violins guarantee of authenticity

A fine quality violin by Joseph Aubry. In very good condition, with a lovely patina to the rich plum coloured varnish over a golden ground. The length of the back is 14 inches (35.6 cm.). Fitted with ebony fittings, Obligato strings and supplied in a new lightweight case. Joseph Aubry violins are quite rare, this example like most of his violins is a Guarnerius model, note the quality of the sound holes, scroll and button. Condition is very good, no damage or repairs, just varnish wear and imperfections. Joseph Aubry was considered to be one of the greatest French makers of this period, this violin made in 1937 was probably one of his last as he died in December of that same year. A lovely instrument to play with a strong strident tone and clear treble sound. A fine instrument at an excellent price, highly recommended!
