H.Clotelle worked for the Laberte-Humbert workshops at Mirecourt from 1891. The Laberte-Humbert and Marc Laberte workshops continued to make a Clotelle model into the 1930s. This example is in nice condition, no damage or repairs just minor varnish marks, note the black edging to the scroll and corners, a feature often seen on French violins of this period. The back length is 14.1/16 inches (35.7 cm.) Setup with rosewood and ebony fittings Pro-Arte strings and supplied in a new light weight case.  A nice violin to play with a strong bass and clear treble. Clotelle violins are a good choice!
