WP50 - A Mirecourt violin.

Product Code WP50
Sound Clip

A decent Strad copy violin, made in the Mirecourt region around 1900 - 1910. No repairs or damage, just a few varnish marks. Note! the dark mark on the upper right back, this is a discolouration in the maple wood used for the back, it is not a split or a break, just a mark. Back length is 14.1/16, 357 mm. The violin bears a Strad label, the red varnish colour to the back is more of a brown/red than it actually appears in the photos. An instrument of character that is nice to play with a clear and strong, powerful voice, that is rich in overtones and maturity. Very good value!
