An extremely fine quality instrument by a very sought after maker Emile Boulangeot, the violin is dated 1919, number 48 and branded inside on the top and bottom plates E.Boulangeot. He was born in Mirecourt in 1877, he worked for a while in Paris for Gustave Bernardel and eventually became the successor to Paul Blanchard's business at Lyon from 1913, he was also the principal maker to the Conservatoire at Lyons and the Symphony Orchestras. He died in 1944. Like several of the top makers of this period he spent a long time on each instrument and in fact produced a total of 175 violins which explains their rarity. The back length of this example is 356 mm. Setup with rosewood fittings, Obligato strings and supplied in a new light weight case. In near perfect condition, just very minor varnish marks. This instrument has a lovely rich, classy tone, balanced and with good volume. A rare and lovely instrument!

Please Note! A soundclip is not available at present due to our violinist not able to travel here because of covid restrictions.
