Jean Jacques Rampal
Expert Près La Cour d'Appel de Paris.

Born in Paris in 1856 Georges Cunault began his apprenticeship at the age of 17 under Sebastien Vuillaume In 1873 he joined Claude-Augustin Miremont, a former collaborator of Bernardel Père, with whom he remained until 1880. From 1880 to 1882, Georges Cunault worked for various Parisian firms before establishing himself at 53, Faubourg Poissonière in 1882 and then at 29 Rue des Martyrs, Paris in 1884 where this violin was made in 1887. This example of his work is in excellent condition, especially considering it is 134 years old! No repairs or damage, just some small varnish dings and varnish wear. This is a lovely petit violin, slender in the ribs and with a body length of 354 mm. Signed on the label and on the inside upper bout, see extra photo link above the price. Superb to play with a warm rich tone with good volume and a lovely clear treble! Highly recommended!
