A fine quality violin by Geronimo Grandini senior who was a well known maker, he joined the Jerome Thibouville-Lamy atelier in 1890 and continued to make what became their top of the range model which was sold under his original label. Back length is: 14.1/16 inches (35.8cm.), setup with rosewood fittings, new Obligato strings and supplied in a new lightweight case. Condition is excellent, there are no repairs apart from a small wing crack repair and some very minor varnish dings. Note the pretty back wood and fine workmanship, this example was made around 1910 - 1915. A violin with a lovely warm sonorous tone, well balanced and with good volume. highly recommended!
