A really superb  violin by Charles Résuche made in 1896, number 57. He was born at Mirecourt, 1858, He became a pupil of Didion, and then worked with Gand and Bernardel in Paris. In 1890 he set up his own atelier with Justin Diter, a fine maker in his own right. Violins by Charles Résuche always have a grandeur and grace about them. This fine example is in beautiful near mint condition. The length of the two piece back is: a touch over 14 inches (356 mm.). Set up with ebony fittings, Obligato strings, and supplied in a new case. The condition is excellent, just extremely minor varnish marks, a violin of real character. A violin with a rich smooth tone, a lovely sonorous bass and sweet treble, a real classy sound. One of our best, really superb!
