H.Clotelle worked for the Laberte-Humbert workshops at Mirecourt from 1891. The Laberte-Humbert and Marc Laberte workshops continued to make a Clotelle model into the 1930s. This example is in nice condition, no damage or repairs but some varnish marks, mainly in the upper bout each side of the finger board, probably from finger nail wear during playing. The back length is 14.1/16 inches (35.7 cm.) Setup with rosewood fittings Pro-Arte strings and supplied in a new light weight case.  This instrument has an excellent warm and mellow tone with a nice clear treble and good volume. A nice violin to play and good value!
