A fine quality violin by Amédée Dieudonne. In almost mint condition condition with just the smallest of varnish marks. Amédée Dieudonne was one of the most popular French makers of the period, this is a beautiful example of his work. It is made in the style of Santo Seraphin who was a Venetian maker working in the 1680s. With a one piece back of good figure and a very close grained spruce front. Back length is 14.1/16 (357mm) With the original gold tipped dark rosewood pegs and ebony tailpiece and chinrest. The violin is setup with Obligato strings and supplied in a new oblong case. A beautiful sound, fine and clear with a whimsical character and a strong bass. A fine instrument for collector or player!
