A Didion violin, circa 1920. £895.00 stock no. WP50
Sarabande in G minor by C.Bohm.
This is a copy of a Gabriel Didion violin, he was a maker who died in 1881. Following his death one of the numerous Mirecourt workshops continued to produce a model that is a copy of the original and even has the same layout of label with a facsimile signature of G.Didion on it.. It is a well made instrument, the wood is not particularly pretty but it plays well and is good value. The length of the back is: 14.1/16 inches (35.7 cm.). Setup with ebony fittings, Pro-Arte strings and supplied in a new light weight case. It has a lovely smooth balanced tone and is easy to play. Good value!
