| A good violin from the Dölling workshops, there were many members of the Dolling family making violins and bows, at least twelve from 1850 until around 1930, this example is unlabelled but believed to be by Rudolph Dölling. In good clean condition, well made and from selected timbers and finished in a warm dark honey oil varnish. The back length is: 14.1/8 inches (35.8 cm.) Rosewood and ebony fittings and Pirastro strings, the violin is supplied in a new case. This violin has an excellent full and sonorous tone, a warm bass and clear vibrant treble. A pleasure to play! |
