A good violin labelled as a Maggini, circa 1880. £1,250.00 stock no. WP212
From Haydn Concerto in G.
An unusual German violin of quality with a Maggini label. Well made, with a one piece back and good attention to detail, this instrument has a lovely patina to the varnish. It is without damage or repairs apart from the wear and patchiness to the varnish but this gives a lot of character to the instrument. The back length is 14 inches (35.5 cm.), The fittings are in ebony, set up with Dominant strings and supplied in a new light weight case. An instrument with a sweet sonorous tone with good balance and clarity. An unusual violin, recommended!
