A J.T.L. Dalla Costa copy, circa 1910. £1,550.00 stock no. WP204
Bach Alemande from Partita No.2.
An unusual J.T.L. violin in that it is a Dala Costa copy. The J.Thibouville-Lamy workshops only made a few examples of this model which was one of their top of the range instruments along with the Grandini and the Barnabetti. They are well constructed and built from the best of materials. Of note is the figure of the back. The scroll carving and the button. In good condition with no damage or repairs, just a little varnish wear in places. The length of the back is 14.1/8 inches (35.8 cm.). Fitted with quality ebony fittings, Dominant strings and supplied in a new lightweight case. This violin has a professional tone, a clear bell like quality with good resonance and volume. Recommended for player and collector!
