A Didion violin, circa 1920. £925.00 stock no. WP204
Méditation de Thais.
This is a copy of a Gabriel Didion violin, he was a maker who died in 1881. Following his death one of the numerous Mirecourt workshops continued to produce a model that is a copy of G.Didion violins. It is a well made instrument, the wood is not particularly pretty but it plays well and is good value, it has the initials FB on the button which may or may not be a later addition. The length of the back is: 14.3/16 inches (36 cm.). Setup with rosewood fittings, Resonance strings and supplied in a new light weight case. It has a smooth balanced tone and is an easy violin to play. Very good value!
