William Henley's Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers
states the following about the maker.
JACQUOT, FERNAND. Born 1884.
Son and successor of Charles Albert Ettienne Jacquot. Born at Nancy in 1884. Studied in Mirecourt in the workshops of Mougenot Gauche. He established his own workshops in Nancy in 1925. He won numerous medals and diplomas at many of the exhibitions. Produced instruments which for elegance and grace of form and loveliness of varnish rank among the best of the modern school. He adds that the tonal quality is beautiful.

A beautiful fine quality violin by Fernand Jacquot, son of Ettienne Charles Albert Jacquot, made at Nancy in 1923. In excellent condition without damage or repairs, just minor varnish marks and dings. The back length is: 14.1/16 inches, (35.7cm). The fittings are in ebony and rosewood, note the pegs which are the original set, the violin has just been set up with Obligato strings and is supplied in a new lightweight oblong case. A lovely instrument to play with a beautiful vibrant rich tone, good volume and clarity. Highly recommended, a violin of real quality!
