A Bonne Lorraine violin, circa 1925. £695.00 stock no. WP09
From Bach Cantabile.
The label is inscribed:

Label
These are well made violins produced by the Léon Bernardel workshops and sold by Couesnon, the label refers to the cross of Lorainne which in turn is from the Duke of Lorainne, an Italian maker from the 1600s . Made from good quality woods, set up with rosewood fittings, Resonance strings and supplied in a new case. The length of the back is 14 inches (35.6 cm.). The condition is generally very good although there is a repaired saddle crack on the right side and the varnish is a bit patchy around the edges hence the very good price! This is a violin with a warm sonorous tone with a sweet treble sound and good clarity. A good instrument at an affordable price!
