William Henley's Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers
states the following about the maker.

A J.T.L. Sarasate violin, circa 1900. £1,650.00 stock no. WP05
1st. movement from Bach Partita in D minor.
One of the earlier J.T.L. Sarasate model dating from around 1900. Stamped Sarasate Maitre on the button, also has the Sarasate label stating that it is an Amati model. This example is earlier than most of the Sarasate and is unusual in that it has more of an "antiqued" look. The back measurement is:14.1/8 inches (35.9cm.) Set up with Dominant strings and supplied in a new case. No repairs, just some minor varnish imperfections. A nice violin with character and the well balanced tone one expects from a J.T.L. instrument. A good instrument!
