Another beautiful Buthod violin in almost mint condition. The Jerome Thibouville-Lamy workshops acquired the Buthod brand around 1885, this subsequently became one of their top models along with the Barnabetti, they are excellent violins, well made and with good attention to detail. This example is in very clean condition, there are no repairs or damage, just extremely minor varnish marks. The back length is: 14.3/16 inches, (36cm.) Set up with high quality ebony and rosewood fittings, Dominant strings and supplied in a new case. An instrument with a balanced lyrical tone, a nice clear sound. Highly recommended!
