Violin branded N.Morlot, circa 1870.

A good quality Mirecourt violin made from selected materials and with good attention to detail having an excellent scroll and sound holes.
A violin labelled L.Mortin, dated 1928.

A well made Mirecourt instrument from the workshops of Léon Mortin. Based on the Stainer profile, good workmanship and a warm sonorous tone.
Violin from the workshops of L.Mougenot, dated 1935.

A fine quality violin from a well known maker. Léon Mougenot worked for Blanchard at Lyons, Paul Jombar in Paris and Hill and sons London before establishing his own workshops at Mirecourt in 1899. All his instruments were entirely hand made, whether by assistants or himself.
A fine quality violin by Léonidas Nadegini, dated 1927.

William Henley's Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers states the following about the maker.

Léonidas Nadegini. Working in the Rue de Vanves, Paris 1925. Violins of superb Stradivarian modelling, imprinted with originality and robustness, grand characteristics. Built on deep study of acoustics and by full capacity of craftmanship. Irreproachable and seductive orange/brown or brown varnish, a delightful reflection of the Cremonese. Although based on the Stradivarian pattern his his arching is highly individual.

An Arthur Parisot violin, circa 1920.

A well made Mirecourt violin in almost mint condition, A.Parisot violins are always of consistent quality in both craftsmanship and tone.
An inlaid violin of the Paulus school, circa 1900.

An unusual instrument, probably bohemian from the turn of the century, exquisitely inlaid in purfling on the back and front with geometric patterns.
Italian violin by Enea Perotti, dated 1924.

An excellent hand made Italian violin, quite a chunky instrument with lots of character and a superb warm depth of tone, capable of good expression, very responsive and with good balance.
Violin labelled Giovanni Pistucci, dated 1925.

This is an instrument with a lot of character both in looks and tone. It has a classy tone, very suave with a lovely deep bass and vibrant treble, a very Italian sound!
A fine quality violin by Emile Pouzol, dated 1930.

A fine quality violin by Emile Pouzol. He worked at Avignon France from 1908 until 1930 the moved to America. This is a beautiful example of his work, in fine almost mint condition, the quality of the workmanship can be seen in the carving of the button, scroll and sound holes. Also of note is the beautiful figure of the back.
Good quality violin by Oscar Prager, dated 1924.

An excellent German violin supplied with the makers original guarantee that is signed and dated in ink. Oscar Gustave Prager was born 1866 and died in 1931, he worked in Markneukirchen.

Violin with character labelled Nicolas Renaid 1897.

An interesting violin with lots of character, although dated 1897 it looks considerably older due to the many patches of varnish wear.
Violin labelled Marcellus Robin, dated 1924.

A good quality violin with a warm open tone, probably a workshop instrument made by one of Robin's assistants.
J.T.L. Salvatore model, circa 1925.

Carrying two labels, the A.SALVATORE, PARIS label on the left and a J.T.L. label on the right, also stamped J.T.L. on the top block.
Violin by F.Salzard, circa 1870.

Probably one of the last instruments made by François Salzard before his death in 1887, the violin has the unmistakable features of this maker in choice of timbers, varnish and elegance of sound holes.
A J.T.L. Sarasate violin, circa 1920.

A good quality violin from the J.Thibouville-Lamy workshops, a Sarasate model dating from around 1920. Labelled Acoulon & Blondelet and stamped Sarasate on the button.
